Bailey White is an eccentric, eerily familiar to me. She writes intense local-color pieces of South Georgia/North Florida, evoking myriad pictures in my mind. On the Amazon.com page for her first book, Mama Makes Up Her Mind, the "See Inside" function offers one of my favorite excerpts. Her mother reminds me a lot of my Grandmother Carter, who grew up in that area.
